Cocaine

Cocaine is a highly addictive drug made from the leaves of the coca plant.

Some of the terms commonly associated with cocaine are: Big C, blow, coke, freebase, lady, rock, nose candy, snow, white crack and yay. Cocaine can be snorted or injected.  Crack, a hardened form of cocaine can be smoked.

Some of the short term effects of abusing cocaine or crack are: Dilated pupils, insomnia, loss of appetite, increased heart rate, blood pressure & temperature, and “crash” (depression, irritability, fatigue).

Some of the long term effects of abusing cocaine or crack are: High risk of psychological dependence, paranoia, aggression and depression from withdrawal.
